FEES & CHARGES
A image processing fee is a fee that is charged by a toll road when an image of your vehicle's license plate is taken. It is applicable if your vehicle does not have an electronic tag installed.
USING TOLL ROADS
Free-flow tolling means that instead of stopping at a toll booth to pay for travel on a toll road, you can keep travelling to your destination. Electronic fixed overhead frames, or gantries, are now in place on Queensland toll roads. Tag sensors and cameras are mounted on the gantries to capture electronic tags and licence plate details as vehicles pass through.
Trips for vehicles with an electronic tag are billed to the motorist’s tag account. If vehicles do not have a tag, the licence plate number is checked to see if the vehicle has a Tag, Plate or Pass Account.
Free-flow toll roads allow motorists to experience quicker travel times and less congestion by avoiding toll booths. Simply drive along the toll road and pay for your toll with one of our easy payment options.
Vehicle classifications are developed by individual toll road operators. Below is an overview on the vehicle classifications for the CLEM7 and Go Between Bridge.
| Vehicle Type | Description |
| Motorcycle | Two and three wheeled motor vehicles constructed primarily for the carriage of one or two persons. |
| Car | Defined as any car or Class 2 vehicle that is registered for private use. |
| Light Commercial Vehicle |
Any commercially registered motor vehicle that: (a) is a two axle rigid truck or load carrying van or utility, having a gross vehicle mass greater than 1.5 tonnes but not exceeding 4.5 tonnes; or (b) has spatial dimensions which are substantially consistent with the axle and mass criteria in paragraph (a) above. |
| Heavy Commercial Vehicle |
Any motor vehicle that:
(a) is a rigid truck with 3 or more axles
(b) is an articulated truck
(c) is a bus

Yes. The CLEM7 is Australia’s safest tunnel and is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the Tollway Control Centre with the help of more than 350 cameras.
When driving through the CLEM7 we recommend all drivers stay in their lane, switch on their lights and turn on their radio. Safety messages are also broadcast over the tunnel’s public address system, so motorcyclists can listen out for information.
No. The following vehicles are not permitted to use the CLEM7:
- Vehicles and loads exceeding 4.6m high
- Vehicles carrying commercial quantities of dangerous goods and specifically any vehicle displaying a dangerous goods placard
- Mopeds
- Tractors
- Bicycles
Detection systems outside the tunnel will notify drivers of height limits. Warning signals will be initialised if the height limit is breached. All vehicles exceeding the height limit will be advised to take an alternate route.
If drivers of over height vehicles proceed then entry will be physically prevented by an over height barrier structure designed to protect tunnel infrastructure.
A dedicated team of people operate world-class safety systems to manage the CLEM7 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can be confident the CLEM7 is always the safest way to get straight to it.
If your vehicle breaks down
- Pull over to the side of the lane and switch on your hazard lights and radio;
- Stay calm - an incident response vehicle will be dispatched to assist you as quickly as possible;
- Remain in your vehicle unless you are otherwise instructed;
- If you do have to get out of your vehicle, watch carefully for other traffic and move to either the walkway or in front of your vehicle. Never stand behind your vehicle.
You can be confident that the CLEM7 is always the safest way to bypass the Brisbane CBD. A range of integrated safety systems operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are managed by the Tollway Control Centre at Bowen Hills to ensure the safety of motorists remains the top priority.
The CLEM7 is one of Australia’s safest tunnels. A range of safety features and systems operate in the tunnel to provide the safest driving environment possible.

Yes. Queensland Police operate speed cameras within the CLEM7 tunnel. Speed and traffic enforcement in the CLEM7 is the responsibility of Queensland Police. These cameras are owned and operated by the Queensland Police Service.
If you have an enquiry about a traffic infringement please contact the Queensland Police Service on 1300 360 610.
There are speed cameras operating inside the CLEM7 to ensure continued safety for motorists.
In the unlikely event of an incident in the CLEM7, vehicle occupants are advised via variable message signs in the tunnel and by radio rebroadcast on the actions required. Please ensure your radio is on while travelling in the CLEM7.
If you are advised to leave your vehicle, you will be directed to a marshalling area either at an entrance (or exit) to the tunnel or at a cross passage within the tunnel. A white strobe light and illuminated exit sign positioned at the exit point will help guide motorists to the exit point.
Please be aware, you may be asked to leave your vehicle in the tunnel. If this is the case, it is important you leave the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside in the event emergency services need to clear access to the incident.
CLEM7 values your safety.
If there is an incident in the CLEM7 tunnel, the speed limit may be reduced to improve safety.
The radio rebroadcast system in the CLEM7 assists safe travel. By having your radio on during your travel, the Toll Road Control Centre can override the signal on your car radio with safety messages or specific safety instructions.
This applies for most AM and FM radio frequencies.

Go Between is the result of a community vote, with almost 5800 responses received between 31 August and 20 September 2009.
Go Between was short-listed as it reflects the purpose of the bridge; allowing motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to easily go between some of Brisbane's most popular recreational, cultural, educational and residential precincts, including South Bank, West End, Gallery of Modern Art, Caxton Street, Park Road and Suncorp Stadium.
The name is also a tribute to The Go-Betweens; an internationally influential band from Brisbane.
The bridge was officially named by founding member Robert Forster, and six other members of The Go-Betweens, at the Community Market Day on Sunday, 4 July 2010, the day before the bridge opened to traffic.

RENTAL CARS
Three days to pay
If you have travelled on the CLEM7 or Go Between Bridge and you would still like to make a payment for the missed toll you can do so online up to three days after your travel.
If you did not pay within three days please contact the rental car company directly to report the missed toll and to learn their policy on toll violations.
- Write the licence plate number of the vehicle on the payment (If you no longer have the car, the licence plate number is usually located on the rental agreement.)
- Keep proof of payment as this will assist in the event a violation is generated.
- Please be aware that Demand Notices are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle, in this case, the rental car company, so the company may still receive an unpaid toll notice if your payment crosses in the mail with the notice mailed to the rental car company. In the event that charges are assessed, the charges will be from the rental car company, not from FLOW. You will need to contact the rental car company directly for resolution if this occurs.
Reimbursement of fees and charges
FLOW will not be responsible for reimbursing any administration fees or charges applied by a rental car company for non-payment of tolls. Please discuss this directly with your rental car company.
When using a rental car there are a few key points to consider:
Option 1: Bring your tag with you.
If you have a FLOWTag or a tag account issued by a provider other than FLOW, you are welcome to use it in your rental car. Please take care to check the following things before travel:
- Ensure the vehicle you are using is registered to your toll account.
- Make sure your tag is in the correct position in your vehicle, as directed by your tag provider
- If your tag does not beep when you travel past a tolling point, please contact your tag provider immediately to avoid unnecessary tolls, fees or a fine.
Option 2: Purchase a FLOWPass

• Use a FLOW RoadPass to travel on all Queensland tollways
• Unlimited travel between your nominated start and finish dates - minimum is 1 day, maximum is 30 days.
• Provide your license plate and credit card details
